Gaza: Two killed, others wounded in Israeli airstrike

GAZA, March 8, 2026 (WAFA) – Two Palestinians were killed and others wounded Sunday evening in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a group of civilians in the al-Katiba area, west of Gaza City.

WAFA correspondent also reported the death of a young man who succumbed to wounds sustained from Israeli army gunfire in Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip.

This brings the total number of Palestinians killed in the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip since the start of the attacks on October 7, 2023, to 72,126, with 171,809 wounded.

Medical sources indicated that the total number of Palestinians killed and wounded who arrived at Gaza hospitals in the past 24 hours was three (one new fatality and two others whose bodies were recovered), in addition to four injuries. A number of victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, as ambulance crews are unable to reach them.

The sources also indicated that the total number of slain civilians since the ceasefire on October 11 has risen to 641, and the total number of injuries to 1,711, while 755 bodies have been recovered.
