PM Mustafa: Palestinian women embody resilience and steadfastness

RAMALLAH, March 8, 2026 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa said today that Palestinian women have faced challenges with unwavering determination, becoming a symbol of resilience, patience, and deep-rooted attachment to their land.

In a statement issued on the occasion of International Women's Day, recognized by the United Nations as a global day to celebrate women’s contributions and struggles, Mustafa expressed appreciation for Palestinian women as mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters, and for their long history of resilience and sacrifice in defending their people’s identity and national rights.

He stressed that Palestinian women have always been at the heart of the national struggle, serving as active partners in the paths of liberation and development, guardians of home and identity, educators of generations, and key contributors in the fields of education, health, the economy, and community work.

Mustafa reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the status of Palestinian women through practical policies and measures that translate into tangible progress. He noted that the government will continue reviewing and developing relevant legislation to ensure women’s full and fair participation in political, economic, and social life, while guaranteeing protection from all forms of discrimination and violence.

Amid rapid global transformations, the government will also continue working to empower Palestinian women to actively engage in digital transformation, expand opportunities in technology, entrepreneurship, and the digital economy, and enhance their economic independence and leadership role in building a modern and prosperous society.

The statement also emphasized that relief, recovery, and reconstruction efforts place women at the forefront of priorities, recognizing them as essential partners in shaping and implementing recovery plans.
