BEIRUT, March 5, 2026 (WAFA) — The Israeli occupation army on Thursday warned residents of four major neighborhoods in the Dahiyeh district of southern Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, to immediately leave their homes, as intense airstrikes and heavy bombardment continue to hit several areas across the country.
The neighborhoods named in the warning are Borj el-Barajneh, Hadath, Haret Hreik, and Chiyah, a move that comes one day after a similar warning was issued for the whole of southern Lebanon.
The unprecedented measure could significantly expand the displacement of Lebanese civilians as Israeli bombardment across the country sharply escalate.
Earlier on Thursday, Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on several areas in Lebanon, targeting the town of Siddiqine and the Al-Housh area in the city of Tyre, resulting in several injuries among civilians.
Previously, the Israeli army had forced residents of specific residential buildings in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut to leave, but it had never ordered the evacuation of entire neighborhoods as it did today.
