JERUSALEM, March 4, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities continued to close the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for the fifth consecutive day.
The Jerusalem Governorate said that the occupation forces prevented worshippers from entering the mosque, citing a state of emergency, amid a heavy deployment of their forces around the compound and at the gates of the Old City. They also prevented Palestinians from entering the mosque's courtyards.
The occupation forces had closed the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Saturday morning, forcing worshippers to leave and preventing the performance of the Isha and Taraweeh prayers.
The closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque coincided with the Israeli army's announcement of a closure of the West Bank, hours after a large-scale attack launched by Israel and the United States against Iran.
