RAMALLAH, March 3, 2026 (WAFA) – The President of Afghanistan’s Bakhtar News Agency, Mawlawi Zia‑ul‑Haq Haqmal, General Supervisor of Official Media, congratulated Minister Ahmad Assaf, General Supervisor of the Official Palestinian Media, and the staff of the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) on winning the Organization of Islamic Cooperation News Agencies Union (UNA) Award for Media Professionalism.
The President of Bakhtar News Agency stated that this well-deserved recognition reflects WAFA’s distinguished professional standing and highlights its prominent role in conveying the truth, promoting professional values, and serving the just causes of its people with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility.
Haqmal wished Minister Assaf and the WAFA team continued growth and success, along with ever greater dedication and excellence in fulfilling their noble media mission.
He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the UNA Union and its member news agencies in promoting media cooperation, advancing professional standards, and strengthening the bonds of solidarity among media institutions across the Islamic world.
