Cabinet calls on international relief organizations to intensify interventions in the Gaza Strip
Urges the international community to move beyond condemnation toward deterrent actions to halt the crimes and financial blackmail of the Israeli occupation and settlers

Discusses in first reading the proposed amendments to the cybercrime law

RAMALLAH, March 3, 2026 (WAFA) - Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa affirmed that, in line with the directives of the President, all government institutions have been instructed to closely monitor the needs of our people and ensure the continued provision of essential services amid escalating attacks by the Israeli occupation and settlers, as well as ongoing regional developments. He noted that the Government Emergency Cell remains in continuous session and coordination.
During its weekly meeting on Tuesday, the Cabinet condemned the continued crimes committed by the Israeli occupation and settlers against our people, most recently the settlers’ attack in Qaryut, south of Nablus, which resulted in the killing of two citizens and the injury of others. The Council called on the international community to move beyond mere condemnation and take concrete deterrent measures, including the imposition of effective sanctions, the activation of international accountability mechanisms, and the provision of urgent protection for the Palestinian people.
The Cabinet reiterated the need to intensify international pressure to reopen the crossings with the Gaza Strip and ensure the immediate and sustained entry of humanitarian aid. It also called on all international and relief organizations, foremost among them UNRWA, to intensify their efforts in light of the current developments and to secure urgent humanitarian needs for our people in the Gaza Strip.
In the Arab context, the Cabinet condemned attacks targeting sisterly Arab states, reiterating its rejection of any violation of their sovereignty and considering such attacks a blatant breach of international law and the UN Charter. The Cabinet affirmed its full solidarity with the affected states and its support for all measures they undertake to safeguard their security and stability.
The Cabinet also discussed, in first reading, a draft decree-law amending the Cybercrime Law. The previous law had been published on the legislative platform, followed by a series of sessions and meetings with civil society institutions and relevant partners to gather feedback and observations. Accordingly, approximately 18 amendments were introduced to the original law to better regulate the use of information technology, address emerging forms of cybercrime, respond to civil society feedback, and safeguard fundamental rights and public freedoms. Deliberations will continue before the final draft is submitted to the President for approval.
Furthermore, the Cabinet recommended that the President approve the amended version of the Regional Convention on Pan-Euro-Mediterranean Preferential Rules of Origin, which will contribute to expanding opportunities for exporting Palestinian products to European Union countries, particularly in the agricultural sector.
The Cabinet also approved the proposal of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to reconstitute the National Contractors Classification Committee (2026–2029), in line with the government’s approach to staff rotation and the restructuring of governmental committees to enhance efficiency, productivity, and the exchange of expertise.
On another note, the Cabinet paid tribute to Palestinian women, their sacrifices, and steadfastness on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which falls on Sunday, March 8, 2026, and declared it an official holiday.
