Israeli warplanes launch airstrikes on southern Lebanon, injuries reported

BERUIT, March 3, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes a short while ago on multiple towns in southern Lebanon, according to the National News Agency.

It said that the drone strikes deliberately struck the towns of Kfarsir, Zrarieh, Siddiqin, Kfarmelki, and Qaqaiyat al-Jisr, with two consecutive raids reported on Zrarieh.

Israeli fighter jets also targeted the area between the towns of Taybeh and Deir Siryan, and that the outskirts of Aita al-Shaab came under artillery shelling.

In the meantime, Israeli armored vehicles reportedly advanced into multiple locations and towns in southern Lebanon.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health,  a total of 31 Lebanese citizens have been killed and 149 wounded as a result of the ongoing Israeli airstrikes.

Earlier, Israeli military army issued an evacuation warning for residents of 53 towns in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley to the east, in preparation for a large-scale bombardment.
