Israeli forces continue tightening military restrictions across West Bank

RAMALLAH, March 1, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces continued for the second consecutive day to enforce strict restrictions across the occupied West Bank, closing checkpoints and entrances to cities, towns and villages, severely restricting Palestinian movement.

In Ramallah, Israeli troops intensified their presence across the governorate, closing multiple checkpoints and metal gates in both directions, including the gates of Atara, Rawabi, Yabrud, Turmus Ayya, Sinjil, Nabi Saleh, Aboud, Deir Abu Mash'al, and Beit Ur.

Two entrances were also closed in one direction: the northern entrance of Al-Bireh city and the entrance to Ein Sinya, both blocked for outgoing traffic.

In Salfit province, the northern entrance to the city of Salfit and the entrance to the town of Deir Ballut were closed.

In Bethlehem, forces closed the main road leading to the villages of Battir and Nahalin, as well as the villages of Husan and Wadi Fukin, using iron gates. Additional entrances blocked included Al-Khadr, Al-Sidr, Al-Jam'iya, and other areas. A military checkpoint was also set up in Aqabat Hasna area, blocking traffic and causing severe traffic congestion.

In Hebron, checkpoints and closures were enforced at Ras al-Jura, Sa’ir, Nabi Yunis, Al-Fahs, Zeif, Halhul Bridge, Bani Na’im, Tarqumiya, and Al-Arroub.
