QALQILYA, March 1, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces early on Sunday detained 13 Palestinians during wide-scale raids in the eastern part of Qalqilya Governorate, in the occupied West Bank.
Local sources told WAFA that the army raided the town of Jayyous, detaining Saher Nofal, Sameh Samha, Moatasem Abu Sa’da, Osama Abu Sa’da, Hakam Salim, Wael Shamasneh, Alaa Shamasneh, Arkan Bayda, Ahmed Nabil Khaled, Karam Nofal, Anas Khaled, and Murad Walid Al-Qaddumi, after searching their homes and tampering with their contents.
Additionally, one Palestinian, Zakaria Balasma, was detained following an Israeli army raid on his home in the village of Kafr Laqif east of Qalqilya.
Meantime, Israeli forces continue to tighten military restrictions around Qalqilya, closing the city's eastern entrance and the entrances of the villages of Nabi Elias, Kafr Laqif, Jinsafut, Al-Funduq, and Hajjah with iron gates, severely restricting movement.
