RAMALLAH, February 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Explosions were heard a short while ago in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Abu Dhabi, amid rising regional tensions.

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry announced the activation of warning sirens, cautioning of a potential Iranian targeting of U.S. military bases. According to the Bahrain News Agency, the US Fifth Fleet's service center was targeted by a missile attack.

Kuwaiti civil aviation authorities also announced the temporary closure of Kuwaiti airspace to all aircraft and passenger traffic. Meanwhile, the UAE announced a temporary and partial closure of its airspace as an exceptional precautionary measure.
