Israeli forces detain Palestinian shepherd while herding livestock in northern Jordan Valley

JORDAN VALLEY, February 27, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces detained a Palestinian shepherd in Khirbet Al-Farisiyah in the northern Jordan Valley on Friday while he was herding his livestock, according to a local official.

Kamal Bani Odeh, director of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) in Tubas, reported that the occupation forces detained a shepherd in Khirbet Al-Farisiyah while he was tending to his animals.

The northern Jordan Valley faces daily, escalating attacks by colonists, including assaults on residents’ homes, acts of intimidation, and attacks on herders that restrict access to grazing areas, alongside the theft or killing of livestock. Israeli forces frequently intervene in defense of colonists perpetrating these attacks and often detain Palestinian residents.
