Israeli forces kill Palestinian in northern Gaza Strip

GAZA, February 27, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Friday killed a Palestinian in Beit Lahia town in the northern Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.

They said that the occupation forces fatally shot 43-year-old Husam Abu Khusa in the al-Atattra area.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli strikes killed five Palestinians and injured others in the central and southern Gaza Strip.

Since the ceasefire agreement went into effect at noon on 10 October 2025, the occupation forces have killed at least 618 Palestinians and injured 1,663 others. The bodies of 726 Palestinians have been retrieved over the same period.

Israel has waged a military onslaught on the Strip since October 2023, killing at least 72,082 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 171,761 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
