Israeli strike kills five Palestinians, injure others in central and southern Gaza Strip

GAZA, February 27, 2026 (WAFA) – An Israeli strike dawn Friday killed five Palestinians and injured others in the central and southern Gaza Strip, according to local sources.

They said that an Israeli combat drone targeted a group of people near al-Maslakh area, west of Khan Younes, killing three.

Meanwhile, medical sources at Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah confirmed that the bodies of two slain Palestinians and several casualties arrived at the hospital following an Israeli drone strike that targeted a group of people to the north of the al-Bureij refugee camp.

Since the ceasefire agreement went into effect at noon on 10 October 2025, the occupation forces have killed at least 618 Palestinians and injured 1,663 others. The bodies of 726 Palestinians have been retrieved over the same period.

Israel has waged a military onslaught on the Strip since October 2023, killing at least 72,082 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 171,761 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
