JERUSALEM, February 23, 2026 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation authorities today, Monday, notified\Palestinian residents of plans to demolish residential and agricultural structures east of the town of Abu Dis, southeast of occupied Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the occupation authorities distributed 23 demolition notices for residential and agricultural structures east of Abu Dis, threatening dozens of residents with displacement and loss of their livelihoods.
According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, the occupation authorities carried out 59 demolition operations in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, during the month of January. These demolitions targeted 126 structures, including 77 inhabited homes, six uninhabited homes, 37 agricultural structures, and four livelihood-related facilities.
The Commission also stated that during the same month, the occupation authorities issued 40 demolition notices for Palestinian structures, as part of ongoing restrictions on Palestinian construction and natural growth in Palestinian villages and towns—restrictions that are currently reflected in a marked increase in demolition operations.
