HEBRON, February 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Colonists Sunday evening broke into a dwelling in Khirbet al-Halawa in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, vandalizing solar panels and causing damage to stone and retaining walls in the area, according to local sources.
Sources said that a group of colonists stormed the home of Palestinian citizen Ahmad Ismail al-Amour in Khirbet al-Halawa and assaulted members of his family before proceeding to damage and steal solar panels used to supply the residence with electricity.
In nearby Khirbet al-Rakiz, several other colonists vandalized fencing surrounding land owned by another local resident and destroyed multiple stone and retaining walls in the area.
In recent years, communities in Masafer Yatta have experienced a marked escalation in colonists’ attacks targeting homes, property, and agricultural land, prompting residents to demand protection and an end to these ongoing violations.
