GAZA, February 22, 2026 (WAFA) – A 27-year-old Palestinian woman was killed on Sunday after being shot by Israeli occupation forces in the city of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, local and medical sources said.
WAFA correspondents, citing medical sources, reported that Basma Aram Banat succumbed to critical gunshot wounds nearly two hours after she had been targeted by Israeli army gunfire in the area.
With her murder, the toll of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire in Gaza that took effect on October 11, 2025, has risen to 615, with more than 1,640 others injured.
