NABLUS, February 22, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced overnight the death of 17-year-old Mohammad Wahbi Hanani, who succumbed to critical injuries after being shot by Israeli forces on Saturday evening in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus.
Hanani had been shot in the head with live ammunition during an Israeli raid on the town. Another child was also injured in the foot during the same incident.
Ameed Ahmad, director of the Red Crescent Ambulance and Emergency Center in Nablus, said a young man was shot in the head and his condition was described as critical, while a 16-year-old boy sustained a gunshot wound to the foot. Both were transferred to Rafidia Government Hospital in Nablus, where one of them was pronounced dead later.
