GAZA, February 19, 2026 (WAFA) – A Palestinian man was injured on Thursday evening after being shot by Israeli occupation forces in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis, according to medical sources.
The Nasser Medical Complex reported the man was wounded by gunfire from an Israeli drone in central Khan Younis.
In a separate development, four released Palestinian detainees arrived at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah after being freed by Israeli authorities at the Karm Abu Salem crossing.
Amani Al-Naouq, spokesperson for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza, said the committee, together with teams from the Palestine Red Crescent Society, facilitated the transfer of the four detainees from the crossing to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital and helped reunite them with their families.
She added that the ICRC has not been able to visit detainees held in Israeli detention facilities since October 2023, stressing the need to be informed of the fate and whereabouts of all detainees and to be granted access to them.
