JERUSALEM, February 18, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Wednesday evening detained Jerusalemite activist Mohammad Abu al-Hummus from the Bab Hutta area, one of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Local sources told WAFA that the occupation forces stopped Abu al-Hummus while he was in the vicinity of Bab Hutta, before taking him to one of the interrogation centers in the city.
This detention comes amid escalating Israeli measures in occupied Jerusalem, coinciding with tightened restrictions on worshippers’ access to Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan and an increased military presence around the Old City and its gates.
