Israeli colonists kidnap Palestinian near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, February 17, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists on Tuesday evening kidnapped a Palestinian from Rammun town, northeast of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to local sources.

They said that colonists stormed the outskirts of the town, kidnapped a young man, and stole the sheep of another.

They added that the kidnappers turned the captive over to Israeli occupation forces.

They confirmed that three Palestinians sustained injuries in the course of ensuing confrontations.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
