JERICHO, February 17, 2026 (WAFA) — A Palestinian child was killed and two others were injured on Tuesday in the village of Al-Jiftlik in the central Jordan Valley, north of Jericho, in an explosion involving remnants of Israeli military munitions.
Ahmad Ghawnameh, mayor of Al-Jiftlik, told WAFA that two Palestinian children were affected when unexploded ordnance from Israeli forces detonated in the Farush Beit Dajan area, killing one child and leaving the others with serious injuries.
He added that Israeli forces prevented residents from approaching the site.
