SALFIT, February 16, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces raided the city of Salfit on Monday evening, according to local sources.
Sources reported that several military vehicles stormed the city from its northern entrance and deployed across multiple neighborhoods.
A helicopter hovered at a low altitude over the area, while infantry soldiers were deployed in the Al-Matwi area, along the road connecting Salfit to Bruqin to the west.
Sources added that the occupation forces detained a number of citizens and interrogated them, and raided several homes, searched them, and converted some into military barracks after forcibly expelling the residents. They also proceeded to destroy commercial stalls in several neighborhoods of the city, in addition to vandalizing the upper floor of the Al-Noor building.
The Governor of Salfit, Mustafa Taqatqa, announced the suspension of work in all official government offices in the city tomorrow, Tuesday, due to the current security situation, in order to safeguard employees and residents.
