GAZA, February 16, 2026 (WAFA) - Medical sources at Nasser Medical Complex reported that two civilians were wounded by Israeli army gunfire outside its deployment areas in central Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.
In the northern part of the besieged enclave, the bodies of three Palestinians were recovered following Israeli shelling that targeted Jabalia Camp yesterday.
In a separate attack, a civilian sustained moderate injuries after a quadcopter drone dropped a bomb in the Hasaka area behind Muawiya Mosque on the coast of Rafah.
In another field development, Israeli tanks advanced near Salah al-Din Street in the Netzarim area in central Gaza.
The toll of those killed and injured in the Gaza Strip has risen to 72,063 and 171,726, respectively, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023.
Medical sources stated that hospitals across the Strip received two bodies and 11 injured individuals over the past 24 hours. A number of victims remain trapped under the rubble and scattered on the streets, inaccessible to ambulance and civil defense crews.
They added that since the ceasefire declared on October 11 last year, the total number of fatalities has risen to 603, with 1,618 injuries reported. Additionally, 726 bodies have been recovered from under the rubble during this period.
