GALILEE, February 16, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities demolished a fruit and vegetable shop in the village of Kabul in the Galilee region, north of the 1948 territories, on Monday morning, claiming it was built without a permit.
Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli bulldozers carried out the demolition and prevented residents from approaching until it was complete.
The shop owner expressed his dismay at the decision, emphasizing that the shop was his only source of income and demanding an opportunity to regularize its legal status instead of demolishing it.
The issue of house demolitions in Palestinian towns within Israel is one of the most contentious, as Israeli authorities obstruct the issuance of building permits to Palestinians and restrict construction activity in these towns.
