JERUSALEM, February 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli Knesset member Amit Halevi stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem on Sunday, denouncing the decision to suspend colonists’ visits during the noon hours throughout the holy month of  Ramadan and advocating for the continuation of what he described as “Jewish prayers” at the site.

The Jerusalem Governorate said Halevi’s incursion came as part of a provocative tour accompanied by the so-called “Temple Mount Administration,” amid escalating Israeli calls to impose a new reality inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, posing a threat to Islamic holy sites and an attempt to alter the historic status quo at the compound.

Meanwhile, the Governorate reported that Israeli forces issued a six-month ban prohibiting freed prisoner and Al-Aqsa Mosque guard Fadi Alyan from entering the mosque, in what it described as part of a broader pattern of restrictive measures targeting Palestinians in the vicinity of the holy site.
