Extremist Israeli MK storms school near Nablus

NABLUS, February 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Extremist Knesset member Tzvi Tzukot, accompanied by a number of colonists, stormed the Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya Girls' Secondary School south of Nablus on Sunday, during school hours.

WAFA correspondent reported that Tzukot, accompanied by armed colonists, provocatively stormed the schoolyard, filmed inside the school, and threatened the teaching staff. He added that the Israeli army stormed the village immediately after the colonists left the school.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education condemned the storming of the Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya Girls' Secondary School in the southern Nablus district by a group of colonists led by the extremist right-wing Knesset member Tzvi Tzukot during school hours.

It reiterated its condemnation of these repeated incursions targeting the Palestinian educational environment and called on the international community to exert pressure to stop these practices, which violate the rights of students and teachers to a safe education.

The Ministry stressed its continued commitment to protecting schools, defending the rights of students and teachers, and working to provide a safe and stable learning environment for all students.

The Director General of Education in southern Nablus, Samer al-Jamal, stated that storming schools and terrorizing female students and teaching staff constitutes a clear violation of all international laws and conventions that guarantee the protection of educational institutions and ensure students' right to a safe education. He emphasized that schools must remain free from any practices or violations that disrupt the educational process.

He indicated that such actions will not deter the educational community from continuing its national and humanitarian mission, calling on human rights and international organizations to assume their responsibilities and exert pressure to stop the repeated violations against the education sector in the Nablus Governorate.

Al-Jamal expressed his full solidarity with the school administration and its students, affirming that the Directorate will follow up on the incident with the relevant authorities to ensure that such attacks are not repeated.
