HEBRON, February 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Sunday issued a notice to seize the Tel Ma’in archaeological site in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, reportedly to construct a military tower on the site.

Media activist Osama Makhamreh said the forces delivered the notice to local residents, claiming control over the area with the support of the Israeli government and extremist minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, citing the protection of colonists who continue to raid the site to perform Talmudic prayers.

The land belongs to the al-Hamamdeh family and is located just tens of meters from their homes. Residents expressed concerns that the occupation’s policies, along with colonist activities, aim to displace them from the area.
