JERUSALEM, February 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities on Sunday issued notices to demolish more than 20 residential, agricultural, and commercial structures in the town of Anata, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, threatening to displace dozens of families and deprive them of their homes and livelihoods.

The Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli forces delivered the notices to property owners in the Wa'ar al-Beik area of the town, citing construction without permits. The move is part of the occupation's ongoing policy to tighten restrictions on Palestinian citizens.

Sources said Israeli forces fired volleys of stun grenades and tear gas indiscriminately toward residents in the area, causing cases of suffocation, particularly near the targeted homes.

The authorities had issued similar demolition notices in the same area in recent days, part of a broader policy aimed at pressuring Palestinian residents and restricting their right to build.

Anata, like many towns in occupied Jerusalem, faces systematic demolition and restriction policies, with repeated notices used as a tool to limit Palestinian construction and expand Israeli control over the area.
