QALQILYA, February 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces demolished a Palestinian-owned house east of Qalqilya, in the northern West Bank, on Sunday, local sources reported.
Sources told WAFA that the forces stormed the town of Jayyous and demolished a 160-square-meter house belonging to local Palestinian citizen Ammar Abu Sharab, which was home to 17 family members. The demolition was carried out under the pretext of construction without a permit.
Demolitions of Palestinian homes by Israeli authorities have been a frequent occurrence in the occupied West Bank. Occupation authorities often cite lack of Israeli-issued building permits as justification, although permits are rarely granted to Palestinians.
These demolitions have displaced thousands of Palestinian families over the years, destroyed property and livelihoods, and exacerbated the humanitarian situation.
