Israeli occupation forces force families to evacuate homes south of Jenin

JENIN, February 8, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces forced families to evacuate their homes in the town of Arraba, south of Jenin, on Sunday evening, according to local sources.

Forces notified a number of families living on lands east of Arraba to evacuate by no later than next Tuesday, in preparation for reestablishing an Israeli military camp that had previously been located on the town’s lands and was evacuated in 2005.

Arraba Mayor Ahmad al-Arda told WAFA that occupation forces informed residents of the area, who are mainly shepherds, to evacuate the lands where the camp is located and threatened them with detention if they failed to leave by Tuesday.

The camp was evacuated in 2005 as part of the Disengagement Plan, an Israeli law passed that year to evacuate settlements and military sites in the northern West Bank and the Gaza Strip, including the evacuation of four settlements in the northern West Bank: Ganim, Kadim, Homesh, and Sa-Nur.
