RAMALLAH, February 7, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces shut down  Saturday the Atara military checkpoint, north of the occupied West Bank city of  Ramallah.

WAFA correspondent said that Israeli soldiers closed the Atara checkpoint in the early morning hours, causing disruption to the movement of Palestinians and vehicles.

Soldiers deliberately  close military checkpoints at the entrances to villages and towns, especially in the early morning, hindering the movement of Palestinians and causing a traffic jam.

According to a report issued by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the number of military checkpoints and gates in the Palestinian territories has reached 916, including 243 gates erected after October 7, 2023.
