HEBRON, February 6, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces detained three Palestinians on Friday, while Israeli colonists damaged agricultural land with chemical substances in Masafer Yatta region, south of Hebron, and others chased residents and prevented them from accessing their lands in the town of Halhul to the north.
Local activist Osama Makhmareh told WAFA that Israeli forces chased shepherds in the community of Khirbet Jinba in Masafer Yatta and barred them from reaching grazing areas, before arresting Palestinian citizen Shaher Ahmed Issa and his son Mamoun.
He added that colonists from the Susiya colony, built on Palestinian land in Masafer Yatta, destroyed large areas of wheat and barley fields in the region. The fields were sprayed with chemical substances late Thursday night using drones, causing heavy losses for farmers. The damage, he said, extends beyond crops and poses a serious threat to livestock, which depend heavily on these fields and on grazing lands now contaminated with chemicals.
In the town of Halhul, north of Hebron, a group of armed colonists from a recently established outpost attacked farmers in Wadi Al-Shannar area and prevented them from reaching their lands. The attack took place under the protection of Israeli forces, who fired tear gas canisters at the farmers before arresting a local Palestinian citizen.
