Several Palestinians suffer tear gas inhalation during Israeli raid on Balata camp

NABLUS, February 6, 2026 (WAFA) — Several Palestinians suffered from tear gas inhalation early on Friday during an Israeli military raid on Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus.

Medical sources from the Palestinian Red Crescent said a number of residents experienced breathing difficulties after inhaling tear gas fired by Israeli forces in the al-Hashasheen neighborhood inside the camp. Simultaneously, Israeli soldiers prevented ambulance crews from reaching those affected to provide treatment.

Palestinian security and local sources reported that Israeli forces stormed the camp at dawn, raided and searched homes, and damaged their contents. Soldiers fired stun grenades and tear gas canisters, causing multiple cases of suffocation.

The sources added that Israeli forces also stormed the villages of al-Lubban al-Sharqiya, al-Sawiya, and Burin in the Nablus province, firing stun grenades and tear gas in al-Lubban before withdrawing. No detentions were reported.
