RAMALLAH, February 5, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities upheld their decision on Thursday to ban Jerusalem Affairs Minister Ashraf al-Awar from entering the West Bank, according to his lawyer, Khaldoun Najm, who filed an appeal against the unjust decision issued on January 15, 2026.
The Ministry of Jerusalem Affairs stated that the occupation authorities rejected the appeal and insisted on the six-month ban from the West Bank, effectively preventing the minister from carrying out his official duties in the 19th Palestinian government.
The ministry emphasized that this decision constitutes a blatant violation of international laws and norms that guarantee freedom of movement and prohibit any occupying power from interfering within the territory of the State of Palestine.
