Several suffocate amid heavy tear gas firing by Israeli forces near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, February 4, 2026 (WAFA) – Several Palestinians on Wednesday evening suffocated amid heavy tear gas firing by Israeli forces in the al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah, according to WAFA correspondent.

He reported that a convoy of Israeli army vehicles stormed the refugee camp, where the occupation soldiers unleashed barrages of tear gas canisters towards the villagers’ houses, causing several villagers to suffocate.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted without the need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in line with its broad and arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
