Israeli colonists attack minor in southern Hebron

HEBRON, February 3, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists on Tuesday evening attacked a Palestinian minor in Masafer Yatta, south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to a media activist.

Osama Makhamra said that colonists barged their way into Huwara community, provocatively roamed between inhabitants’ dwellings, and assaulted a minor, inflicting bruises across his body.

The casualty received treatment at the scene.

Israeli soldiers arrived at the scene to defend the assailants and detained an elderly man.

Meanwhile, colonists stormed Khirbet al-Markaz, one of the communities making up Masafer Yatta, and released their sheep around Palestinian inhabitants’ dwellings, causing damage to property and crops.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
