Egyptian President, Jordanian King stress need for full implementation of Gaza ceasefire agreement

CAIRO, February 1, 2026 (WAFA) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Jordanian King Abdullah II stressed on Sunday the need for the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the importance of facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip without restrictions.

Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed al-Shenawy indicated that the talks held between the Egyptian President and the Jordanian King at the Presidential Palace addressed the developments in the Gaza Strip and the need to expedite early recovery and reconstruction efforts there.

He added that the Egyptian President and the Jordanian King reaffirmed Egypt and Jordan's firm stance against any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land. They also discussed the latest developments in the West Bank and reiterated their rejection of all violations and arbitrary practices against the Palestinian people.

The two leaders also stressed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, based on the June 4, 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital, is the only way to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East region.
