JERUSALEM, February 1, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces forced siblings Kamal and Karam Mohammad Abu Swei to evacuate their homes in the Wadi Qaddum neighborhood of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, on Sunday, in preparation for their forced demolition.
Local sources told WAFA that the two homes house 15 members of the Abu Swei family and are facing the threat of demolition due to the occupation's policy of imposing strict restrictions on granting building permits to Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem.
In a related development, the occupation authorities delivered several demolition notices to residents of the Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan, targeting the homes of Mohammad Shweiki, the Badran family, Nader Baydoun, Hatem Baydoun, Ishaq Saweh, and Abdul Rahman Al-Abbasi.
These notices are part of a settlement plan targeting the Al-Bustan neighborhood, which entails demolishing dozens of Palestinian homes for the benefit of Judaization projects, within the framework of the policy of forced displacement pursued by the occupation authorities against Jerusalemites, in flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.
