SAKHNIN, January 29, 2026 (WAFA) – Hundreds of Palestinians demonstrated in the cities of Sakhnin and Baqa al-Gharbiyyeh inside Israel on Wednesday in protest against the crime crisis and to denounce the Israeli police's negligence and complicity with organized crime, as daily protests continue across the Arab community.
In Sakhnin, hundreds of students, children, and residents took part in a protest organized by the local popular committee and Al-Hallan School. Organizers said a nationwide demonstration is scheduled to take place as well on Saturday evening in Tel Aviv.
Protesters raised banners condemning crime and calling on the Israeli government and police to act to curb violence and ensure safety. Some signs read, “Stop the war of crime,” and “The government and police are partners in crime.”
In Baqa al-Gharbiyyeh, residents held a protest in the town's center following a call by the local popular committee, rejecting policies that contribute to the spread of weapons and protesting the failure of authorities and police to effectively combat crime.
