QALQILYA, January 29, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Thursday delivered a demolition notice for a Palestinian-owned house in the town of Jayyous, east of Qalqilia, located behind the separation wall.
Munif Nazzal, an official in charge of colonial settlement affairs in Qalqilia Governorate, told WAFA that Israeli forces handed a local resident a notice to demolish his 165-square-meter house, situated behind the wall and near his agricultural land, citing unlicensed construction and proximity to the Tzufim colonial settlement.
The house is home to a family of 17, including 10 children, three men and their spouses, and an elderly grandmother, leaving them at risk of displacement should the demolition proceed.
The decision comes after an initial demolition notice issued in 2015, which was temporarily halted following a legal objection, before being recently reinstated by Israeli authorities.
