JERUSALEM, January 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces late Wednesday night stormed the town of Hizma, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, hours after their earlier withdrawal.

The Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli forces stormed Hizma, firing stun grenades and tear gas canisters at commercial shops, and forced their owners to shut them down.

Israeli forces sealed the town’s entrances with military checkpoints, preventing vehicles from entering or leaving and leaving dozens of residents stranded in their cars.

Schools in Hizma announced the suspension of classes to protect students amid the heavy military presence in residential neighborhoods.

Earlier, the occupation forces withdrew from the town following a two-day raid and lockdown, which included a tight siege, extensive house incursions, and severe restrictions on residents’ movement.
