BETHLEHEM, January 28, 2026 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that a young Palestinian man from the town of Ash-Shuyukh, in the Hebron governorate, was killed by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire near the Tunnels checkpoint in Bethlehem.
The Ministry said it was informed by the General Authority of Civil Affairs that Qusay Maher Ismail Halaika, 28, was killed after Israeli occupation forces opened fire at him near Bethlehem.
According to local and security sources, Israeli forces shot the young man and left him bleeding on the ground.
