NABLUS, January 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces raised their flags on Wednesday on several shops and buildings in the Nablus Street area, adjacent to the northern entrance of the Tulkarm refugee camp. Other flags were also seen raised on tall buildings within the camp, in a move described as provocative.
This comes amidst the ongoing Israeli aggression against the city of Tulkarm and its two refugee camps, Tulkarm and Nur Shams, which has now entered its second consecutive year. The camps remain under a tight siege, preventing residents from returning after their forced displacement from their homes.
The camps are witnessing a heavy deployment of Israeli military vehicles and soldiers, who have seized homes and converted them into military outposts. Live ammunition is fired intermittently, accompanied by severe restrictions. This comes amidst widespread destruction of infrastructure and homes, and the continued siege that prevents life in the camps from returning to normal.
