RAMALLAH, January 28, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Presidency has warned against the dangerous Israeli escalation in Palestinian cities, villages, and refugee camps in the West Bank, , citing the recent announcement to begin constructing a bypass road around the town of al-Eizariya.
The planned road aims to separate Palestinian residents, confine them to segregated routes, and prevent them from accessing main roads, as part of the implementation of the E1 settlement project. Officials said the move would further entrench fragmentation, isolation, and severe restrictions on Palestinian movement throughout the occupied West Bank.
Palestinian Presidency spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh affirmed that this dangerous policy pursued by Israeli authorities in their war against the Palestinian people will undermine all international efforts to halt the escalation. He held the Israeli government fully responsible for the serious repercussions of this aggressive policy.
Abu Rudeineh called on the US administration to intervene and compel the occupation authorities to cease these aggressive policies in order to ensure the success of President Trump's plan.
He noted that the Palestinian leadership welcomed this step to end the war on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and to stop Israeli aggression in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, a move that is fully consistent with international law, UN Security Council resolutions, and international legitimacy.
