BETHLEHEM, January 27, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces closed, on Tuesday evening, the entrance to the Ras al-Wad area in the town of Za‘tara, east of Bethlehem, according to security sources.
Sources told WAFA correspondent that Israeli forces sealed the entrance to Ras al-Wad with an iron gate, preventing vehicles from entering and exiting Za‘tara.
According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, the number of military checkpoints and iron gates set up by the occupation across the West Bank has reached 898. This includes 18 gates installed since the beginning of 2025 and 146 gates erected after October 7, 2023.
