Israeli occupation continues closure of Hizma town, completely bars vehicle movement

JERUSALEM, January 27, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces continued, on Tuesday evening, their siege and closure of the town of Hizma, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.

WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli forces stationed at the town’s entrances are monitoring residents’ movement and completely preventing vehicles from entering or exiting. Forces have also converted several citizens’ homes into military outposts, closed a number of intersections with gates and earth mounds, forced shop owners to shut down their businesses, and raided several homes.

Schools in Hizma announced they will suspend classes tomorrow to ensure students’ safety.

Earlier today, Israeli forces distributed leaflets in the town’s streets notifying residents that Hizma has been declared a closed military zone and prohibiting residents from leaving until further notice.
