NAZARETH, January 27, 2026 (WAFA) – One person was killed, and another was critically injured on Tuesday in a shooting that occurred at a car showroom in the town of Yarka in the 1948 territories, raising the number of those killed in the Palestinian community inside the 1948 territories since the beginning of the year to 23.
This comes amid sustained popular mobilization denouncing the proliferation of organized crime in the 1948 territories, as well as protests against the complicity of Israeli authorities and police with this phenomenon and their failure to effectively address it.
As the Palestinian community in the 1948 territories witnesses angry protests over the surge in crime and police complicity, the death toll from murder cases since the beginning of the year has risen to 23, including one woman.
The year 2025 recorded an unprecedented toll in murders, with 252 Arabs killed, amid accusations of Israeli police negligence and complicity with organized crime, and their failure to provide security and safety for Arab citizens.
