JERUSALEM, January 24, 2026 (WAFA) – A young Palestinian man was injured on Saturday after being shot by Israeli occupation forces in the town of al-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem, local sources reported.
The Jerusalem Governorate said the young man was shot near the Israeli segregation wall in al-Ram, which separates the town from occupied Jerusalem, and was transferred to hospital for medical treatment.
The governorate noted that Israeli forces pursued several workers near the wall three days ago and opened fire at them, injuring one worker.
In recent months, hundreds of workers have been detained and mistreated by Israeli police under the pretext of not holding permits.
According to the General Union of Palestinian Workers’ Unions, 15 workers have been killed since the start of 2025 by Israeli gunfire, during pursuits inside Israel, or from falling off the segregation wall.
The Jerusalem Governorate recorded more than 70 confirmed injuries among workers in al-Ram and its surroundings last year, caused by live or rubber-coated metal bullets fired directly at them. Most injuries were in the lower limbs, indicating a deliberate intent to maim or disable.
