Israeli colonists forcibly displace 15 Palestinian families from Al-Auja Bedouin community near Jericho

JERICHO, January 24, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists forced 15 Palestinian families to leave the Bedouin community of Shallah al-Auja, north of Jericho, bringing the total number of families forcibly displaced from the community to 94.

The Al-Baydar human rights organization reported that a series of ongoing harassment and attacks by colonists, which have driven families to leave one after another. This follows the displacement of 20 farming families from Yatta and 26 families from the Ka'abneh tribe earlier this month, following weeks of repeated attacks and assaults.

It also affirmed that the violations included grazing livestock on on residents’ agricultural lands, vandalizing fruit trees and crops, and constantly provoking the residents. It emphasized that these actions are part of a systematic policy aimed at pressuring Bedouin communities and seizing their lands.

The Al-Baydar human rights organization stressed that the events reflect a deliberate targeting of Bedouin communities in the northern Jordan Valley, aimed at creating an uninhabitable environment and imposing a forced colonial reality, resulting in economic and social crises that threaten the safety of the residents.

The organization called on the international community, human rights organizations, and the media to take urgent action to protect Bedouin communities and further prevent the escalation of the displacement and attacks on Palestinian land and property.
