RAMALLAH, January 24, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces closed the Atara military checkpoint north of Ramallah on Saturday morning.
WAFA correspondent reported that the occupation forces closed the Atara checkpoint in the early morning hours, disrupting the movement of Palestinians traveling to and from villages and towns northwest and west of Ramallah, as well as from the northern West Bank.
Israeli forces routinely close military checkpoints at the entrances to villages and towns, particularly in the early morning, hindering the movement of Palestinians.
According to a report issued by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the number of military checkpoints and gates in the Palestinian territories has reached 916, including 243 gates erected after October 7, 2023.
